All By Myself

Yes I am singing Celine Dion's song in my head right now. My hubby is gone for the weekend and I am completely alone!!! Well my two kiddos are here but my son is consumed by the Xbox and my daughter is asleep already since she stayed up till 4 in the morning at a sleepover last night. I can do this. I am a big girl!!! OK so I may look like a big girl but I am soooo NOT!!! Nothing makes me realize how completely dependent on my husband I am than being without him. So normally when my husband has to be gone, which has been maybe 4 times in almost 14 years of marriage, I still have my parents but not this time!!! They are out of town!!! So then there is my husbands parents, nope that is who my husband left town with!!! I feel so selfish worrying about myself considering they are going to a funeral. Well lets think, oh how about my brother, NO he is out of town for work!!! I need to just face it I am ALONE!!! I sent my hubby this really sad text...

Pathetic...I know!!!

And here I am tonight having my own pity party with no one to invite!!! My BFF did invite me to come hang with her and her husband but I hated to intrude on their night. Maybe I really should grow up!!! Nah maybe later!!!

WAMM

When my hubby and I took on the task of being the youth directors at our church, we decided we needed a name. After much deliberation, we came up with WAMM, We Are More Ministries. We were inspired by the song You Are More by Tenth Avenue North. We have our biggest group of boys and girls on Wednesday. Then on Sunday nights we separate them and I teach the high school and jr high girls. I have actually had this girls class for over a year now and the girls have been such a blessing on my life. Since the youth has become such a big part of our lives, we have spent a lot of time gathering ideas and I want to share them. Some things we have come up with ourselves, others we have gotten from the Internet or other people. So last night the hubby did not get off of work in time for church so I had to handle class. Luckily God had laid an idea in my heart.

We like to start with a game to get the kids excited. Sometimes this back fires as the kids get too excited and then stay that way.

Chaotic Balloons:
The aim of this balloon game is for each team to keep the balloons in the air.

I bought blue balloons for the boys and pink for the girls and I let them help blow up the balloons since I needed most of my hot air to teach.

You have the teams, I did boys vs girls on opposite ends of the room. When I say go all the balloons must be thrown into the air and cannot be held but only hit. As soon as a balloon hits the ground that balloon is eliminated.

The team with the most balloons remaining is the winner.

Our BOYS won.

Lesson: Cling to God

I first went to the store and bought 4 black and 7 white T-shirts and wrote the following on them:
White shirts: Sinner, Saved, God, Death, Repentance, Forgiveness, and then I wrote Divorce, Abuse, Finances all on one shirt.
The black ones I was gonna write Sin on but could not find a white paint pen so I just left them blank.

I then asked for 10 volunteers and had them put the shirts on (except Saved). I had the volunteer with the sinner shirt stand up in the middle of the room, and explained to the class that we are all born sinners.

For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God Romans 3:23

I then asked my volunteer if she wanted to be saved and she said yes, so I read John 3:16, and gave her the saved shirt and then had my volunteer with the God shirt on stand in the middle of the room and I introduced them. I asked them how to maintain fellowship with God after salvation, and I was so proud of them when they answered prayer and reading your bible.

Then I had my black shirt volunteers stand up and had my saved volunteer walk over to them for a minute, God followed, and then walk away and then I had her walk over to them again but this time they followed her, surrounded her and then made their way in between Her and the God volunteer. I had them stand in a straight line in the middle of the room in this order: Saved, Sin, Sin, Sin, Sin, God.

Next I had my Divorce, Abuse, Finance volunteer stand up and come over to my Saved volunteer and had her look very sad and look back like she was looking for God. I then had my Death volunteer go to her and I had fall to her knees in despair.

I asked the group, "What do you need when life and this world throw things at you like death of a loved one, parents divorce, abuse, financial problems and so on." They answered, "God." I then asked them where is He? How is she suppose to get to him? What is in the way? They answered, "Sin."  I asked them how to get rid of sin?

I then explained to them about asking for forgiveness Acts 26:18, Ephesians 1:7 Then I told them that not only do you have to ask forgiveness but you also have to rid your life of the things standing between you and God. Matthew 4:17, Acts 3:19,

I had my Saved volunteer ask the Forgiveness and Repentance volunteers to come help her. They came to the middle of the room and moved the sin volunteers out of the way, And the fellowship with God was restored!!!!

Our youth group plans to hold services on a Sunday night at the end of this month and I think we may do this as a skit for the whole church.

I then showed them this video on youtube

The night went really well!!!!

Dance Moms Night!!!

Yes I ashamed to say, my family and I have become completely addicted to Dance Moms, and when I say my family yes that means my hubby too. Something about Abbey Lee we just can't get enough of!!!! I, myself am actually a dance mom and we are currently preparing for a competition in April. I love dance and fully admit to living my dreams of being a famous ballerina through my daughter. Fortunately for her she has her dads long skinny legs. While I love the ballet portion of dance she tends to lean toward the hip hop portion which she is very good at. I wonder what Abbey and the moms have in store for us tonight!!!

Pole Vault...Really???

2 posts in one day!!!! Yay me!!!

My poor son Bayley takes after me. I am 5 foot tall 0 inches!!!! with a rather large behind. This is Bayley's 7th grade year which means Jr High sports. Football went OK. He was a starter on offense and defense for the B team. Then in basketball he was the starting point guard for the B team. He is very athletic but being soooooo small he really needs to be fast and he is NOT!!!! So now comes track, he is not fast enough for any of the sprints, he doesn't like long distances, he tried out for long jump and didn't make it duh. So one day last week, when i thought he was going to have to go to off season, he comes home and tells me he is doing the pole vault!!!!! Really, my little baby boy is going to run with a long stick and fling himself into the air!!! If only you could see the visions in my head!!! So last Thursday was the first track meet and my husband and I were unable to make it since it was out of town. Luckily the wind was blowing so hard the pole vault event was cancelled so today they have a track meet here and I guess we will see how this goes!!!! Please dear Lord keep my baby safe!!!

What A Weekend

Who would've thought I would have to come to work to get a break. Wow it was a crazy weekend!!! All the way from roofing my house to hair and makeup for my daughters dance recital. She was a RagDoll and a Mime.

We had three performances with 2 costume and makeup changes in each one. Then last night right after her last dance recital, the children's choir from church had their Christmas play. The play was AMAZING!!! Both of my kiddos had parts and Paige sang a solo. Through the busyness of it all I still got a BLESSING!!!

BUSY BEE

WOW what a busy month I have had!!!!! SOOOO MUCH has happened...
#1 We are OFFICIALLY in contract on our new house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If everything goes according to plan we will be moving in the middle of January!!!! God is so good!!!!
#2 The Hunger Games...these books consumed my entire brain for 2 weeks. 2 weeks that I did not have to spare mind you. Once I pulled my self out of the fantasy world of Panem, I had reality demanding my attention.
#3 Dance, Dance, Dance...it is that time of year again that keeps me on the move. Paige's winter dance recital starts tonight. I am so excited, it is one of my favorite things!!! They are performing Camille and The Land of Dreams. She will be a rag doll and a mime. Will definitely post pics soon!!!
#4 Christmas...duh!!!! People who have all their gifts bought way ahead of time just irritate me jealous I am more of a Christmas Eve shopper which tends to cause stress, irritability, hair loss...and so on. Plus I decided to take on the responsibility of being my daughter's 3rd grade class room mother so I also have a party to plan in the midst of the chaos which brings me to...
#5 DIET...on hiatus until I slow down!!!!
